DISCOGRAPHY

Vince Lee and the Big Combo's first studio session was recorded in July 1999 at the Plymouth Musicians Co-operative Studios. The band laid down six tracks (five original songs and a re-worked version of Howling Wolf's Howling for My Darlin') in two days and released them on a self titled sampler EP. The CD is now out of print, it was distributed mainly as a promotional package so not many copies were made or sold. The EP earned the band a live session on the Paul Jones Blues Show as well as appearances at the Gloucester Blues Festival, Colne R'n'B Festival and Bishopstock Blues Festival. The recording features the bands original drummer, Sean May who left the Big Combo in 2000.

Other stuff...

In 1993, Vince Lee recorded a solo album entitled, Resonator Man, a collection of  traditional slide guitar blues. The songs were performed on Vince's own handmade steel resonator guitar with Don Fox on acoustic fretless bass and Dave Holmes on washboard. The whole idea for the session came from our late friend and great bassplayer Don Fox, he gathered the recording equipment, produced the session, performed and sang on several tracks and he even took the photos and wrote the sleevenotes for the cover. The album was released on Don's own label, Palm Records, it was only available on cassette.
